The Hole Family Outing

There is a lovely family here in Kansas City. They are the Holes, and they habitually have us over for dinner, let us play with their dogs, and graciously hold their tongue when we stay too late on a school night.

Last night, the Holes took us for a yummy thai dinner at Lulu’s, a show at Main Street Cafe, ice cream, and then back to their house for three rounds of ping pong. Here are a few photos, though I was careless and forgot to take more… there isn’t a shot of Mama Hole and Sister Darby.

Date Night

Our date began down in the crossroads at Badseed Farmers’ market, where we picked up some transplants for our balcony garden.

Three varieties of heirloom tomatoes, onions, leeks, mint, and basil. We’ll be adding some more herbs, morning glories, and possible some kind of climbing beans as well.

Afterwards, we had dinner at the Brick:

And to finish the night, we finally saw the Hunger Games. I think it’s a great film adaption, and I maintain my favorable opinion of Jennifer Lawrence which began with her performance in Winter’s Bone.
