We have house church on Wednesday nights. It usually looks something like this:
Every time we get together we eat, study the word, and pray for one another (Acts 2:42). We hold each other accountable, we talk, we confess, we laugh, we hope. We are community, and we are church.
This week we’ve all been studying Matthew 18. So have dozens of other house churches around the city. But tonight, we focused on the first few verses…unless you turn and become like children… so in honor of that, we had a kids’ meal.
Grapes, strawberries & sugar for dipping, mac ‘n’ cheese, tater totes, apple juice, peas, and popsicles. We also managed to fall into a lengthy discussion concerning the best Disney films, VHS rewinding machines, childhood cartoons, and the irony of Jane’s parents allowing her to watch The Simpsons but not Saved by the Bell as a kid.
That was a warm up for our discussion on Jesus’ words about the kingdom, about humilty, about the heart of a child. It was a good night.
